How to Dress
We’re pretty casual in our “dress code” at First Baptist St. Pete.
You’ll find folks dressed in shorts and flipflops, all the way to people dressed in a full coat and tie.
Dress how you feel comfortable! We think you’ll find no one judging you by how you dress. We’re more about focusing attention on God and worshipping Him!
What to Expect in Our Worship Service
Our Worship Service is usually anywhere from 60-75 minutes from start to finish. We typically get out around 11:40-11:45 AM.
We encourage you to arrive early so you don’t miss any of the elements at the beginning of the service.
Our Multi-Generation Worship Service features familiar hymns and contemporary music all ages will enjoy. Each service also has a special performance by our Sanctuary Choir, an ensemble, and/or a soloist.
Message / Teaching
The message includes Bible-based, relevant teaching from Senior Pastor Glen Money. Pastor Glen is a natural storyteller and wants to share God’s love with you, teach you how God wants us all to share God’s love with the world.
First Baptist St. Pete cares deeply about your children!
We’ve created special context-sensitive, age-appropriate environments just for them and we’re pretty confident they’ll have fun!
If it’s your first time, just visit the Welcome Desk and someone will be more than happy to help you get your child to their destination.
Our children from birth to PreK meet downstairs in the Children’s Wing, and our Elementary-aged children meet upstairs.
We have Sunday School every Sunday starting at 9 AM for all children, and at 10:30 AM, while the adults are in Worship, our children from Kindergarten through 5th grade enjoy FirstKIDS Worship upstairs! However, on the first Sunday of each month, our elementary-aged children will attend Worship with their parents. This allows your child to see how the church worships together as the entire FBC Family!
Check out our FirstKIDS page for more!
Our FirstYouth Student Ministry has a Bible Study group every Sunday, upstairs in Room 205. All students, from 6th through 12th grade are invited to join us!
Students will go to our main Worship Service at 10:30 AM with their parents or guardians.
Check out our FirstYouth page for more!
How early should I arrive?
If you have children, we recommend that you arrive 20 minutes early. This will give you plenty of time to park, get your children checked-in, and get to your Bible Study/Sunday School/LIFE Group or our Worship Service. If you don’t have children with you, 10 minutes early will be enough time.
Of course, we’d love for you to arrive early and stick around after worship and get to know our folks!
What if I want to learn more about First Baptist Church?
You can learn a lot about us online!
Where should I go when I arrive?
We’d love to know you’re here and help you find your way. Visit the Welcome Desk in the Belltower and we’ll show you the ropes!
Are there any refreshments?
Yes! We serve free pastries, coffee, water, and juice in the Narthex before our Worship Service. Our folks love to use the time before worship to fellowship and meet new people.
What is expected of me?
If you’re our guest, we want you to feel at home and part of the FBC Family. Don’t feel obligated to do anything you’re uncomfortable with.
Need to sit during the music? No problem. Not comfortable with communion/the Lord’s Supper? Let the tray pass.
You’ll find that the First Baptist St. Pete is very non-judgmental and we love for our guests to come back because we accepted people as they are.
One more thing: please don’t feel obligated to participate in the offering time. We love to give back to God as an act of worship. However, simply fill out the Connect Card inside your Worship Guide/Bulletin and let that be your offering for the day.
