HiZhouse Children’s Ministry exists to help children experience God’s gift of life in Jesus. We invite children into a dynamic Christian gathering to...
- Meet God
- Connect with one another
- Embrace opportunities to impact our world for the good
HiZhouse seeks to accomplish our mission through 4 Gs (Grace, Growth, Gifts, Good Stewardship).
Our desire is for children to understand Romans 3:23; that the gift of grace is needed by all people. We want them to understand that we receive forgiveness through a prayer of repentance (turning away from our sins) and that we ask Jesus to be with us to guide our lives. We want to present this gift clearly, relevantly and age appropriately.
We want kids to INVITE others to HiZhouse and for them to boldly describe to their class and team mates the real “best gift ever”.
We want our kids’ faith to change them from the inside out ;“ not because of a bunch of rules but because they want to. Growth follows grace, just as living a Christ-centered life follows actually accepting Christ. A life that’s lived more and more in Christ is apparent to others, so we celebrate when we hear stories from parents and teachers about changed lives.
As kids are developing a heart for worship, an interest in reading the Bible, and expressing a desire to pray they will MEET GOD.
All Christians are given spiritual gifts that they are expected to use in the work of a local body of believers (I Cor. 12). However, to some there may appear three ways to use a gift; preach, sing in the choir, or teach a community group. We want to offer opportunities for kids to explore different gift areas and to observe adults in the church body model the use of their gifts. Our desire is for kids to eagerly anticipate; wonder how God is going to use me?” or thinks, “Maybe one day I’ll get to ___________”!
In a world that encourages materialism and applauds debt we want kids to understand that everything we have belongs to God.
Even though most children don’t have a lot of money or stuff to manage yet, good stewardship applies to a commodity they do have time. We believe children can learn that even small investments can IMPACT OUR WORLD FOR THE GOOD.
Building Incredible Kids
Would you like for your child to do more than just hear a story and make a craft when they come to church? Do you want them to have the opportunity to experience real spiritual growth? If so, HiZhouse was built with you in mind. Our goal is that by the time kids leave HiZhouse they will have a strong foundation in their faith and be equipped to live it out.
Babies through Pre-Kindergarten
9:00–10:30 and 10:30–12:00
Preschoolers are nurtured spiritually at HiZhouse. Age grouped classes allow preschoolers to learn about God’s love through wonderful Bible stories, songs and fun activities designed just for them. Classes are equipped with age appropriate toys and equipment which helps to provide a safe and secure environment for preschoolers.
KINDERGARTEN – 5th GRADE
10:30–End of Worship Service
Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade meet in HiZbackyard for Children’s Worship! Every Sunday children can listen to music, play video games and be with their friends AND participate in a worship experience designed just for them. Worship is a time of high-energy music & movement, Bible teaching, and team competitions for lesson reviews, followed by small group activities and games for life application.
We take seriously a parent’s call and responsibility to raise their child in a home where Christian values and beliefs are taught and offer a service to celebrate their commitment to the Lord. There are two parts to our Dedication Service that takes place several times each year.
First on a Saturday a gathering of family and friends meet in front of the Creation Window in the lobby of our church. The service is led by the Children’s Pastor and includes scripture, a time for parents to commit themselves to the Christian nurture and raising of their child, a prayer, the reading of letters written by the parents to their child and a time of family sharing and celebration.
The second part occurs at the beginning of either the 9:00 or 10:30 Worship Service on Sunday. At this time parents and children are introduced to the church.
