As a church body, we embrace opportunities to impact our world for the good by supporting missions locally, statewide, and throughout the world.
Our work within the local community offers a variety of opportunities to get your hands dirty and become actively involved in positive change right here in Pinellas County.
Our involvement statewide involves ministries in various locations from Homestead to Jacksonville. Being a part of the family called “Cooperative Baptist Fellowship” and its state organization in Florida provides individuals and our church the opportunity to hold hands with other Christians nationwide and globally to be the presence of Christ, to embrace diversity, to seek justice, to honor local church autonomy, and to spread the word of Jesus Christ. (floridacbf.org).
Our Worldwide Missions involve international mission trips, a sister church program with a congregation in Haiti, as well as prayer and financial support of various missionaries and faith-based organizations serving throughout the world (primarily via the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship).

Local Missions
Service opportunities occur at various times throughout the year. If you are interested in participating with one or more of these ministries, please call the church office and/or watch the bulletin for date/time announcements.
Family Promise of Pinellas - We partner with this ministry to help local families without homes regain their independence by providing secure, safe, temporary housing while the parents work with case managers, counselors, and service agencies in order to return the family to a stable home and a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
Taking it to the Streets – We partner with this faith-based local ministry to help provide assistance for those facing addiction, hunger, and homelessness in our community.
St. Petersburg Free Clinic – We gather, donate, and provide items to the Clinic which in turn helps to provide emergency assistance such as food, shelter and medical care to those in need in our community.
Carefest – We participate in this annual community-wide event that brings together businesses, organizations, and church congregations to work on a myriad of projects around Pinellas County (including minor home repair, painting, placing community signage, and/or yard and garden work).
Crop Walk – Our members sign up to ‘walk for hunger’ by raising money in support of the walker. We collect non-perishable food items such as peanut butter, rice, and beans to be donated to the St. Petersburg Free Clinic Food Pantry.
Micah Center of Pinellas County – This is a center where asset-based community resources are gathered and distributed amongst the most neglected in Pinellas County – the under-employed families with children. Micah Center also holds a Summer Camp for 50 children.
Resurrection House – A faith-based, transitional housing and self-sufficiency program for motivated families with minor children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Samaritan’s Purse "Operation Christmas Child" – We pack and send shoe boxes filled with toys, personal hygiene items, games, stuffed animals, and other fun items to bless a child in need for Christmas. Through Samaritan's Purse, the shoeboxes are shipped all across the world and used as tools of encouragement and evangelism.

Through Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, we support...
Open House Ministries – Located in Homestead in a building built by volunteers, this faith-based organization ministers to adults and children living in migrant housing all around the area. Summers offer opportunities to help with weekly Vacation Bible Schools. The center also houses a Free Clinic run by Open Door Clinic, a “building partner” that provides medical care to the uninsured and the under-insured.
New Church Starts – The Villages (Brownwood); New Covenant Church (DeLand); The Well at Springfield (Jacksonville); Destiny Ministries (Orange Park).
Pat and Carolyn Anderson Scholarships – These scholarships provide for youth “cadets” at each of the South Florida ministries for a summer of leadership.
Stetson Baptist Collegiate Fellowship – at Stetson University in DeLand.
Touching Miami With Love – This center is located in the poorest section of the City of Miami. They minister to the neighborhood and seek to rescue the youth there from a life of drugs and gangs.
Disaster Response – CBF Florida maintains two trailers containing items to be used in a natural disaster such as a hurricane. A companion to this unit is a shower trailer maintained by Bayshore Baptist Church in Tampa in partnership with CBF Florida. Volunteers assist when the need arises.
Global Missions
Costa Rica – We have missions teams that work with 6:8 Ministries every summer in Alajuelita (a low-income, urban district of San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital and largest city in the country). The teams participate in a wide variety of ministry opportunities including feeding projects, children’s ministry, construction projects, and prayer walks. Our mission teams and the host missionaries strive to love the local people in word and deed, and to shine the light of Jesus Christ into the darkness of the social and spiritual challenges there.
Haiti – FBC partners with Reciprocal Ministries International to connect with its "sister church" in Zanglais, Haiti. Our first annual trip to Haiti was in the spring of 2015. We are also participating in Hope For Kidz, a child sponsorship program created to meet the educational and physical needs of Zanglais Baptist Church children who would otherwise be unable to attend school due to their severe poverty.
We also support missions and missionaries throughout the world through financial support of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (floridacbf.org), including:
CBF Bahamas – We have opportunities to share with the churches in the Bahamas through construction, theological training of both children and adults, and disaster response.
Eastern Cuba Baptist Convention – Since 2008, CBF Florida has had a relationship with eastern Cuban churches to support their ministries. In 2012, we supplied bicycles for pastors in the outlying area for transportation to their mission churches.
Encuentro Ministries – Rev. Carlos D. Peralta, located in Windermere, Florida, leads our partnership with Hispanic churches in the Caribbean which includes the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and Cuba
Karen Alford – Karen is from the Tampa Bay area and is supported by fellow Christians and Florida CBF through our annual offering. She is a nurse practitioner and works on the island of Mentawai in Indonesia.
Missy Ward Angalla – We partner with her through the Florida CBF in Kampala, Uganda where she ministers to refugee women involved in abusive situations and human trafficking.
