First Baptist Church offers those with Special Needs a place to worship, learn and flourish in God’s love. Our Special Needs class offers socialization through Bible study, Bible stories that illustrate particular lessons about the life of Jesus, and God’s love for all people.
Our gifted teachers support new hobbies, assist in teaching appropriate behaviors, and discuss how to recognize community norms. Christian education is at the forefront of our efforts at First Baptist and in working with our Special Needs Group. We offer support designed to increase the individual’s independence and give them a spiritual base to rely upon. Incorporating music, art and craft projects, we hope to offer those with developmental disabilities some new opportunities to grow and thrive.
The Special Needs Bible Study class meets each Sunday at 9 a.m. in Room 2 (near Heritage Hall).
Additionally, we often have fellowships and other activities tailored for our group.
